Intellectual property rights are one of the most important property rights, especially in the transition to the knowledge economy. Therefore, the registration of establishment and protection of IP rights is a key factor determining the competitiveness and sustainable development of individuals and business organizations. However, in fact, in Can Tho city in particular, the Mekong Delta in general, many businesses still do not understand: if they want to register and establish IP rights, what issues should businesses pay attention to as well as how to protect?
To answer those questions, the Science and Technology Information Center under the Department of Science and Technology of Can Tho City has coordinated with the Representative Office of the National Office of Intellectual Property in Ho Chi Minh City. HCM organized an online exchange session on the topic "Experience in registering, establishing and protecting intellectual property rights".

The speakers participating in the online exchange are experts with experience in the field of intellectual property: Mr. Tran Giang Khue – Deputy Head of Representative Office of the National Office of Intellectual Property in Ho Chi Minh City. HCM; Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Diep – Head of Specialized Management Department, Can Tho Department of Science and Technology; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc – Representative of Golden Fulcrum Law Firm; Mr. Bui Nhat Duy – Representative of NGK Spark Plugs Co., Ltd.

The topic of the online exchange revolved around issues that are of interest to units, individuals and businesses such as: how to register and establish intellectual property rights; infringement of intellectual property rights and forms of processing.
Here, Mr. Bui Nhat Duy, representative of NGK Spark Plugs Co., Ltd. received a question about skills to combat IP infringement after successful registration.

According to Mr. Duy, the company will send employees to directly visit and share about the situation of counterfeiting and counterfeiting with business partners (spare parts stores, car repair points);
- Organizing technical seminars to share products & propagating about flash and counterfeit goods, sharing and introducing genuine business networks, helping partners know where to buy and sell reliably;
- Cooperate with authorities to repel counterfeit goods, by means of sanctions under Vietnamese law;
- Future plans to use anti-counterfeiting stamps;
- Using the media to spread propaganda about counterfeit goods.
Hopefully, the exchange has brought the audience useful experiences on registration and protection of intellectual property rights.
