"Spark Rescue" originated from the idea of the leaders of NGK Spark Plugs Company (Vietnam), with the desire to establish free mobile spark plug repair posts across the country, supporting emergency spark plug replacement for people experiencing spark plug failure due to movement on roads where rain and flood often occur.

From the initial idea, NGK Vietnam spark plugs have been implemented into a series of events "Rescuing spark plugs" with activities: organizing drill days, training skills when the car stalls, how to check spark plugs, distributing instructional materials to car mechanics and volunteers; launch spark plug ATMs and put spark plug ATMs into actual operation; set up a dedicated spark plug repair "squad" at some "focal points" to promptly help local people when needed... The first pilot of this project is in Ho Chi Minh City. Hcm City, although there are some limitations to improve, has basically achieved great success, and has spread to car-loving communities and volunteer groups in many provinces and cities across the country.

Following that success, NGK Spark Plugs expanded the campaign to other areas. This time NGK chose Kien Giang, because it realized that in recent years, many western cities such as Can Tho, Rach Gia ... often flooded, especially around the 8th and 9th lunar months. There are places where the water level rises up to half a meter high, causing car jams, vehicle damage.

The rehearsal day of "rescuing" motorbike spark plugs in Kien Giang starts at 08:00am on 11th March, 2022 at An Hoa Park, Nguyen Trung Truc, Quarter 1, An Binh Ward, Rach Gia City with dozens of experts, technicians, volunteers and a large number of people in the province. Within the framework of the event, NGK spark plugs invite certain influential faces, with deep professional knowledge, to directly share and visualize on-site practices in the fastest and most effective way, so that anyone can learn and equip themselves.

Lecturer Nguyen Tan Loc – Kien Giang Vocational College – directly shared his experience in handling flooded vehicles and spark plugs.

Furthermore, through this series of community activities, NGK Vietnam spark plugs want to orient consumers to raise awareness about periodic spark plug maintenance and replacement. Spark plugs are a product that needs to be replaced every year, it works to help vehicles be durable, machines operate stably, consume less fuel, reduce emissions into the environment. In the context of volatile gasoline prices in the current period, periodic changes also make economic sense, reducing daily burdens for people.

The organizers honored a number of groups specializing in free relief in Kien Giang and The West.

The activities of NGK spark plugs in Kien Giang receive the enthusiastic support of a large number of local residents, along with the facilitation of local authorities and great attention of the media and press.

NGK hopes that the heat of the event will contribute to a gradual change in consumers' vehicle habits, and believes that every small action to reduce harm to the environment will have a great effect on the planet, reducing natural disasters or climate change.

The "squad" of Rescue spark plugs is performing a "mission" to help Kien Giang people replace broken spark plugs for free.
