Last year, COVID-19 raged around the world, drastically changing our surroundings and our daily lives.

Restrictions on the free movement of people and goods have prevented the economy from running smoothly. Our group is also forced to take measures such as suspending operations, switching to work from home. As a result, we did not initially make an optimistic forecast for consolidated financial results for the year ended March 31, 2021. However, quarterly consolidated results for the six months ended. on September 30, 2020 turned out to be much better than expected.

It is all thanks to your adaptation to the difficult situation we face, always thinking about what you should do and acting on it. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to all of you for your daily dedication and hard work.

LAs one of the major events of our Group in 2020, we launched a new long-term management plan in June.

With a new slogan "Beyond ceramics, exceeding imagination" As our 2040 VISION and forecast from there, we created the "2040 NITTOKU BX Long Term Management Plan" as the ideal self that we aspire to in 2030. We must confront face the challenges facing the international community and contribute to achieving a better society. To do so, I encourage you to accept the challenge to create change through bold new ideas that go beyond the initiatives and aspirations of society in the past.

To make your work more comfortable and productive, our Group has promoted working style reform for its employees, clearly demonstrating our readiness both inside and outside the Group, we issued the "Declaration on Work Style Reform".

To propel NGK SPARK PLUG Group to a new stage of development, we need to react properly to changes. Indeed, we should even take the initiative and create a revolution.
